Spherical samples with stoichiometries of TiMn1.56 and TiMnl.25 were studied at temperatures of between 334 and 831K. The diffusivity was determined by analyzing absorption data on the basis of a mixed model for the rate-controlling processes of bulk diffusion and surface reaction. In the case of TiMn1.56, at temperatures of between 334 and 746K, the diffusivity (tables 171 and 172) could be described by:

D (m2/s) = 2.40 x 10-8 exp[-18.2(kJ/mol)/RT]

In the case of TiMn1.25, between 628 and 831K, the diffusivity data could be described by:

D (m2/s) = 2.74 x 10-6 exp[-42.8(kJ/mol)/RT]
