Chronopotentiometric measurements were used to study the diffusion of Mo3+ ions in various melts. The data, for temperatures ranging from 900 to 1100K, could be described by:
D (cm2/s) = 7.60 x 10-3 exp[-11.822(kcal/mol)/RT]
It was suggested that Mo3+ diffusion occurred because of their jumping from complex MoCl63- anions and into vacant sites of the surrounding cationic envelope; and back again.
