Tracer diffusion results for 64Cu showed that the halide exhibited self-diffusivities which were of the order of 3 x 10-5 to 4 x 10-5cm2/s. The diffusion was essentially of Arrhenius type within each phase, with a discontinuity in activation energy at the phase transitions. An estimation of the diffusivity, which used a jump model in combination with published phonon frequencies, revealed a significant departure from tracer diffusion in the -phase.
