A study was made of the surface diffusion of Au, on single crystals, by measuring the distance between condensed Au deposits (originally about 0.5nm apart) after various diffusion anneals. At temperatures ranging from 130 to 500C, the activation energy for such surface diffusion was 0.12eV.
