Interdiffusion at 500, 575 and 650C was studied in compacted powder blends. Rapid diffusion at the start of homogenization was attributed to surface diffusion, at contacts between particles, with an activation energy of 8kcal/mol. Bulk diffusion later predominated, with an activation energy of 42kcal/mol.
