Sectioning and radioactive tracer analysis were used to study the thermal diffusivity of 85Sr ions in single crystals at 600 to 750C. The results were expressed in terms of the heat of transport (1.56eV) of a Sr ion plus cation vacancy complex. This value was approximately the same for pure NaCl and for specimens which were doped with SrCl2 mole fraction of 1.8 x 10-4 to 4.2 x 10-4.
