An investigation was made of the diffusion of Xe by measuring the fractional gas release after irradiation with fast reactor neutrons to doses of 9 x 1014 to 4 x 1016/cm2. No effect of the irradiation dose upon diffusion was observed (table 155). The results at 1000 to 1300C were governed by an activation energy of 3.7eV. It was also observed that the gas release at 915C was much greater after the specimen had been heated for 1200s at 1190C.
