The diffusion of Li+ was investigated by performing isotopic exchange between crystals, and solutions of C4H9Li in octane and cyclohexane. The exchange took place in 2 stages; exchange reaction in the surface layer, and subsequent diffusion in the interior of the solid phase. The diffusivity of Li at 18C was deduced to be equal to 4 x 10-18cm2/s.
