Glassy samples with the composition, AgI-33.33Ag2O-16.67mol%V2O5, were prepared by rapid quenching from the melt and were characterized by using X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry techniques. A glass transition temperature was detected at 343K. The conductivity of the sample was found to be equal to 0.0023S/cm at 300K. The diffusion coefficient at 300K, as estimated by using the 110mAg isotope and microtome serial sectioning techniques, was 1.1 x 10-8cm2/s. When the 111Ag isotope and self-absorption techniques were used, the estimated diffusivity was 8.9 x 10-9cm2/s.
