The diffusion constant of 109Ag at temperatures of between 150 and 300K was determined by using nuclear magnetic resonance pulsed magnetic gradient methods. The activation energy was equal to 0.12eV for the α-phase and was equal to 0.16eV for the β-phase. There was a discontinuous change in the coefficient at the α to β transition. In terms of the Haven ratio, a decrease from 0.51 to 0.39 was observed for this transition. The decrease was taken as evidence for an increased correlation of Ag motion in the β-phase.
