Tests of the separation of normal pentane, from a light gasoline isomerate, by a MFI zeolite composite membrane were performed. The behaviour of the membrane sample was studied as a function of total hydrocarbon pressure up-stream of the membrane as well as of the temperature. A maximum permeate flux, close to 2kg/m2h, was observed at 250C and 2bar total hydrocarbon pressure. The normal pentane weight fraction was more than threefold higher in the permeate than in the feed.
