The tracer pulse technique, in which a pulse of radioactive adsorbate was injected into a chromatographic system, was used to obtain diffusion coefficients and equilibrium constants for the ethane-silicalite system. It was found that the diffusivity of ethane was 3.1 x 10-8cm2/s at 298K, with an activation energy of 7.8kJ/mol.
