The temperature and pressure dependences of the diffusion of 113Sn which had been implanted into high-purity single crystals were investigated by using the serial sectioning technique. It was found that Sn was a fast-diffusing solute. The results could be described by:

D (cm2/s) = 8.4 x 10-1 exp[-28.2(kcal/mol)/RT]

The activation volume for diffusion was equal to 0.87 of an atomic volume at 787.5K.
