The temperature dependence of the bulk diffusion coefficient of Fe in Cu was determined using EDX at 923 to 1273K:
D(m2/s) = 0.03 x 104exp[-187(kJ/mo1)/RT]
These results were different from to those obtained previously using radiotracer techniques, where the activation energy was 30kJ/mol lower and the pre-exponential factor was 50 times smaller.
