Electron probe and window-frame techniques were used to study interdiffusion in the β-phase (11 or 13wt%Al) at 800 to 950C. The diffusivity was independent of composition over the range studied. The self-diffusion data were described by:

D (cm2/s) = 1.3 x 10-1 exp[-38.90(kcal/mol)/RT]
