The diffusion of interstitial C in the -phase was studied by using the dynamic mechanical relaxation method. It was found that the anelastic relaxation time was independent of the amount of C, and it was deduced that the C diffusivity could be described by:
D (cm2/s) = 6.61 x 10-3 exp[-19.1(kcal/mol)/RT]
at 303 to 357K.
