By using a radiotracer sectioning technique, the diffusivity of Ni in 2 high-Cr steels was studied at 1050 to 1200C. The steels contained 0.15%C, 1%Si and 0.80%Mn, and enough Ti to bind the free C. The results could be described by:

17%Cr:     D (cm2/s) = 1.44 x 100 exp[-67.0(kcal/mol)/RT]

25%Cr:     D (cm2/s) = 2.17 x 102 exp[-70.2(kcal/mol)/RT]
