The diffusivity of H in the stainless steel was measured by using a gaseous permeation technique at 200 to 430C. the data obeyed an Arrhenius relationship,

D (cm2/s) = 4.79 x 10-3 exp[-51.59(kJ/mol)/RT]

and were not affected by cold-working and heat-treatment.
