The diffusion of implanted solutes in the α-phase was studied at 823 to 1073K by using Rutherford back-scattering techniques. The measurements showed that the diffusion coefficients yielded a linear Arrhenius plot:

D (cm2/s) = 1.0 x 100 exp[-15.8(kcal/mol)/RT]

The parameters were typical of normal substitutional behavior.
