The diffusivity of implanted Au in the -phase was determined at 823 to 1023K

by using Rutherford back-scattering spectrometry. The diffusion data could be described by:

D(cm2/s) = 1.9 x 10-1exp[-61.9(kcal/mol)/RT]

It was considered that these results were typical of a substitutional diffusion mechanism.
