Using a simple model for the structure of oxygen in germanium crystals and making the assumption that internal friction and diffusion were both due to the same relaxation phenomenon, the diffusion coefficient of oxygen was deduced from experimental data on internal friction. The results were described by:
D(cm2/s) = 0.17 exp[-2.02(eV)/kT]
