The H concentration profiles in the amorphous material, at 250 to 500C, were measured by using the nuclear reaction, 15N-1H. The results could be described in terms of a single bulk diffusion mechanism. This was described by:

D (cm2/s) = 1.0 x 10-3 exp[-1.4(eV)/kT]
