Lattice and grain-boundary interdiffusion coefficients were deduced from the concentration distributions found for Zr-Hf interdiffusion in polycrystalline (Zr1-xHfx)O2-16Y2O3, with x = 0.020 or 0.100. The lattice interdiffusion coefficients could be described by:
D (cm2/s) = 3.1 x 10-2 exp[-391(kJ/mol)/RT]
and the grain-boundary diffusion parameters could be described by:
δD (cm3/s) = 1.5 x 10-6 exp[–309(kJ/mol)/RT]
at 1584 to 2116C.
