Strontium oxide-aluminosilicate powder sources were used to introduce the diffusant, and Rutherford back-scattering spectroscopy was used to measure diffusion profiles. For the 1atm experiments, Arrhenius relationships were obtained:

D(m2/s) = 8.4 exp[-450(kJ/mol)/RT]

at 725 to 1075C, for diffusion normal to (001).
