The chemical diffusion of Zr under anhydrous pO2-buffered conditions was measured in natural titanite. Rutherford back-scattering spectrometry was used to measure diffusion profiles. The Arrhenius relationship for Zr diffusion parallel to c at 753 to 1100C under NNO-buffered conditions was:

D(m2/s) = 5.33 x 10-7exp[-325(kJ/mol)/RT]
