A conceptual link between the tracer correlation factor and the physical or conductivity correlation factor was explored in detail. As an aid to the discussion Monte Carlo simulation was used to calculate diagonal and cross phenomenological transport coefficients. It was shown that the tracer correlation factor could be regarded as a conductivity correlation factor and that the question of the formal correlation factor status of the conductivity correlation factor was meaningless.
