A comparison was made of results obtained using the theories of Brown and Thöléen, Siems and Jøssang et al., and to provide quantitative information concerning the dependence, upon the model used, of the stacking-fault energy of Cu2NiZn. Extended nodes in networks with a mesh size larger than the outer radius of the node could be used for the determination of the stacking-fault energy. Isolated nodes, as well as network nodes, were used to obtain the stacking-fault energy of Cu2NiZn, which appeared to be 33mJ/m2.
