The Kirkendall effect was studied in these systems at 1100C, and the compositional dependence of the interdiffusion coefficient was investigated over the entire composition range by using the Matano-Boltzmann technique. The compositional dependences of the diffusion coefficients of the components were determined over the composition range by using published data on self-diffusion and heterodiffusion in these metals, together with the interdiffusion coefficients obtained here, via extrapolation of the compositional dependences of the interdiffusion coefficients. The data were analyzed in terms of published data on the diffusion of radioactive tracers in the alloys, and the Kirkendall shifts which were determined here.
