Diffusion studies were carried out by depositing layers of the diffusing species, and annealing at 1161 to 2200C. The results could be described by:
D (cm2/s) = 5.9 x 10-2 exp[-78.8(kcal/mol)/RT]
It was noted that a solute element which decreased the melting point more also diffused faster.
