A study was made of isothermal gas release from single crystals which had been irradiated to a neutron dose (E = 10keV) of 5.8 x 1015/cm2. The data for Xe diffusion in α-CsI could be described by:
D (cm2/s) = 3.0 x 10-1 exp[-0.98(eV)/kT]

The best linear fits to the solute diffusion data ([407] to [411], [418] to [422]) yield:
Cs: Ln[Do] = 0.60E – 18.3 (R2 = 0.995); Xe: Ln[Do] = 0.32E – 7.8 (R2 = 0.70)
