Measurements were made of the misorientation-angle distributions, following various degrees of deformation, in cold-rolled Al and Ni and in compressed stainless steel. The scaling of the dislocation-cell boundary-misorientation angle distributions was studied. The distributions for small to large strain regimes in these metals appeared to be identical. Such distributions were considered to be universal ones. The results were significant for the development of dislocation-based deformation models.
