The dislocation creep of pure Mg was related to the <11▪0>{00▪1} basal slip systems at temperatures of up to 225C. Transmission electron microscopy of a Mg-alloy, which had been crept at 180C, revealed dislocation segments which did not lie on the basal planes. It was therefore assumed that other slip systems were active in this alloy, in addition to the basal ones.
