The nature of the dislocations which were emitted by cracks in thin-foil samples was determined by using transmission electron microscopy. They were found to be of c-type, with a Burgers vector of [00▪1], and moved on {10▪0} prism planes. Although grown-in dislocations of a-type, with b = 1/3<11▪0>, were observed near cracks where the emission of c-type dislocations occurred, the a-type dislocations were not observed in motion. This again confirmed the low mobility of a-type dislocations.
