High-resolution quasi-elastic neutron scattering measurements were performed on hydrides of the C15 Laves phase compound by using a back-scattering spectrometer. Broadened spectra were observed at 313 to 442K, for momentum transfers ranging from 1.5 to 18.2/nm, at a concentration of [H]/[M] = 0.15. A single Lorentzian, convoluted with the resolution function, was sufficient to fit the data over the entire Q-range; thus suggesting that diffusion occurred via a single jump mechanism.
