A non-isothermal method was proposed for the determination of the diffusivity of gases in metals. The method permitted the determination of the temperature dependence of the gas diffusion coefficient over a wide temperature range, while using a small number of experiments. The technique was applied to the diffusivity of N in steels, and the results agreed favorably with data that had been obtained using other means.
