A model was suggested which described dislocation motion which was controlled by the formation and surmounting of jogs. The multi-stage dislocation motion was a non-stationary process and included a slowing stage (caused by jog accumulation) and a throwing-off stage which occurred upon attaining a critical random inhomogeneity of dislocation displacement which was caused by statistical fluctuations.
