The collective behavior of a system of straight parallel edge dislocations during cyclic plastic deformation was investigated. Two different stochastic approaches were used for the description of dislocation pattern formation. In one of them, the discrete dislocation system was described by coupled Langevin equations. In the other one, a continuum approach was used. Typical deformation patterns were found by stochastic integration.
