A study was made of n-type and p-type (211)B samples which had been grown by means of molecular beam epitaxy. The Cd fraction was approximately equal to 0.22. When the doping level fell below about 2 x 1015/cm3, the lifetime data indicated the presence of Shockley-Read recombination centers. It was suggested that these Shockley-Read levels were related to Hg vacancies.
