The radiative lifetimes for individual close Frenkel pairs on the Zn sub-lattice were measured by means of the optical detection of magnetic resonance. A simple theory was developed for the exchange and radiative lifetimes of deep-donor to deep-acceptor recombination, and the results were compared with data that had previously been obtained for Frenkel pairs. Good agreement was found, and this permitted individual pairs to be tentatively assigned to specific lattice sites.
