Perturbed angular correlation and tracer diffusion experiments, using a 100Pd/100Rh nuclear probe, revealed the formation of a defect complex by monitoring a well-defined quadrupole interaction in Te-rich crystals. The defect complex was tentatively interpreted as being a Pd A-center, with Pd on the chalcogen lattice site. No deep levels that were related to implanted Pd could be detected, between 0.2 and 0.8eV above the valence band- edge, by the use of deep-level transient spectroscopy.
