The neutron depth profiling technique was used to study the concentration profiles of 6Li in ceramic samples which were doped with 1.8, 50 or 95% 6Li isotopic concentrations. Specimens for analysis were prepared as pellet discs. Samples for diffusion studies were arranged as diffusion couples between 1.8% 6Li discs and 85% 6Li powder. A 1MW equivalent thermal neutron flux of 3 x 1011/m2s was used. The depth which was probed by using this technique was about 15. The diffusion coefficients ranged from 2.1 x 10-12 to 7.0 x 10-11m2/s for 1.8% 6Li-doped ceramics which were annealed at 1200 or 1400C for times of between 4 and 48h.
