The chemical diffusion coefficients and thermodynamic factors of Co1-xO were determined at 1108C, under O partial pressures of between 0.001 and 1atm, by using an electrochemical method. The present results were found to agree with published data which had been obtained by using thermogravimetric techniques. On the basis of a comparison with data on the self-diffusion of Co, it was concluded that a simple vacancy mechanism could account for Co diffusion.
