Experiments were performed on magnetite crystals at 1235C, under various O potential gradients. The migration of 59Fe tracer was studied by using a sectioning method. It was found that the diffusion behavior could be separated into vacancy and interstitial regimes. In the vacancy regime at 1235C, the diffusivity was equal to 1.49 x 10-6cm2/s and the correlation factor for tracer diffusion was 0.56. In the interstitial regime at 1235C, the diffusivity was equal to 2.2 x 10-5cm2/s and the correlation factor was 0.43.
