Published data on solubilities and diffusivities were reviewed. It was suggested that the diffusivity of H2O depended upon the H2O content, and an expression:

D (m2/s) = 0.00154 C [H2O (mole fraction)] exp[-12200/T(K)]

was derived for calculating the H2O diffusivity in the Li2O single-phase region up to the Li2O/LiOH boundary.
