The kinetics of O surface exchange were studied for various compositions in the perovskite oxide system. In particular, the relationship between the O surface exchange coefficient and the O tracer diffusion coefficient was examined. The strong correlation between these parameters was explained in terms of O vacancies which played a major role in the surface exchange process on these materials.
