Serial-sectioning and radio-tracer techniques were used to monitor the diffusion of 90Sr, 45Ca and 133Ba in Sr 3-3x La2xx(VO4)2 solid solutions, where x ranged from 0 to 0.25. It was found that the diffusivities decreased in the order: Ca - Sr - Ba. An increase in the vacancy concentration, , on the Sr sub-lattice led to an increase in the diffusivity of the rare-earth cations. It was shown that doubly-charged cations migrated via Sr(2) positions.
