Samples of Li3xLa1-xVO4, where x ranged from 0 to 0.3, were prepared by using the citrate sol-gel method. The diameter of the powders was about 125nm when the molar ratio of metal to citric acid was 1:3. Powder and sintered samples were characterized by using differential thermal analysis thermogravimetry, X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopic and alternating-current impedance techniques. The results showed that pure LaVO4 and Li3xLa1-xVO4 solid solutions formed above 650C. The measured conductivities ranged from 10-7 to 10-3S/cm. The activation energy was equal to between 31.21 and 34.41kJ/mol at 15 to 590C.
