It was shown that in situ  deposition and surface characterization by Auger electron spectroscopy permitted precise surface compositional analyses to be made. The annealing temperature dependence of the surface composition of SrTiO3(2.8nm)/Cu3Ba2YO7 and Cu3Ba2YO7(2.7nm)/SrTiO3 multi-layers revealed the diffusion of each of the constituent atoms. It was found that interdiffusion was negligible at temperatures below 600C. The diffusion of Ba into SrTiO3 predominated at temperatures ranging from 600 to 660C. The activation energy was estimated to be equal to 2.4eV. The diffusion of Ti into Cu3Ba2YO7 became clear at temperatures above 660C. The associated activation energy was equal to 4.4eV.
