Electrochemical cells were prepared by depositing a fast ion conducting Li2O-P2O5-Nb2O5 glass layer, and a metallic Li layer, onto a cathode which was in the form of thin layers or bulk samples of V2O5-40P2O5. Alternating-current impedance measurements were used to determine the Li diffusivity (table 139). The higher values of diffusivity which were found in the case of thin films and bulk samples were attributed to the presence of the common network-former (P2O5) in the electrolyte and the electrode.
