The properties of solid solutions with a Nasicon-type structure were investigated. A limited range of solutions was formed for M = Al, Ga, Y or Yb, while continuous solutions were formed in the case of Cr, Fe, Se and In. It was found that Na3In2(PO4)3 was hexagonal (a = 0.8966nm, c = 2.2104nm). A small monoclinic distortion was restricted to x-values which were close to 2. The conductivity data (table 175) indicated that, for a given value of x, the mobility of Na+ was markedly affected by both the ionic radius and the electronic structure of the ion which was introduced.
